There are two main types of doors – inward opening and out wards opening.
In-ward opening.
This door type is considered to be one of the most popular, the main advantages being:
• No space required to open the door outside of the bath, as it opens into the bath.
• Greater seal as the pressure of the water pushes the door tight.
• When open the door does not drip water onto the floor outside the bath.
Out-ward opening.
This style is less popular than the above, as it requires space outside of the bath to open the door which may cause fitting issues. It also does not form as a tight seal compared to the in wards style. It can however be opened in an emergency without draining the bath.
Most modern baths are now fitted with the in wards style doors. But ensure you determine which door the bath you are considering to purchase has.
